What is therapy like?

The hardest part is deciding to try therapy. Once you have an appointment, we meet in a calm office environment where we can explore your reasons for seeking therapy, identify attainable goals, and decide together on the best way to achieve them.

My approach is adaptable to accommodate your needs, whether you are hoping to focus on a specific issue for a short time, or wanting ongoing support for a chronic or complex problem. I collaborate with you, inviting your feedback and honoring your life experience and how it contributes to therapy.

My perspective is trauma informed. I rely on techniques derived from multiple therapeutic disciplines, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and narrative therapy. I offer specialized therapy for processing traumatic experiences, including EMDR and Narrative Exposure Therapy.

I work with adults, whether you are looking for short term support or are wishing to deepen your understanding of yourself. My practice is inclusive of all cultures, ethnicities, sexual and gender identities, and abilities.
